Fall 2019
We are pleased to welcome our newest faculty member, Associate Professor Dr. Lauren Rosenberg, who will serve as our Writing Program Administrator. Dr. Rosenberg, who received her PhD from the Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é of Massachusetts-Amherst, has previously served as Writing Program Administrator at Eastern Connecticut State Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é and at New Mexico State Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é. Dr. Rosenberg’s research interests include adult literacy, community writing, and feminist research methodologies. Her recent book, The Desire for Literacy: Writing in The Lives of Adult Learners, published by the CCCC/NCTE Studies in Writing and Rhetoric (SWR) series (https://secure.ncte.org/store/desire-for-literacy), is a qualitative study of four marginalized adult learners’ perspectives and experiences as they become readers and writers. She has had articles and chapters published in a variety of journals and books and has presented at many national and regional conferences. As our new Writing Program Administrator, Dr. Rosenberg will, among other things, oversee the teacher preparation program for all teaching assistants and assistant instructors in the English Department.

Frontéra Retórica. Our annual Frontéra Retórica symposium was held on April 26, 2019 in the Centennial Museum, with Dr. Angela Haas as our keynote speaker. Frontéra Retórica, our student chapter of the Rhetoric Society of America, regularly hosts scholars (both virtually and face-to-face) who share their research and insights with the program.
